Easy to install

As with any building material, the important factor in the use of Lead is that it should be designed with understanding of its properties and be fitted by people with the appropriate skills.

To assist with the design process, the Lead Sheet Association provides information in a range of technical publications and Auto Cad.

Following the rules of good practice ensures that Lead is for Life.

If Lead work is to be properly detailed, a good understanding of the nature and uses of the material is needed – in previous centuries this was gained by apprentices working with skilled workers – today it is available through the training provided by the Lead Sheet Association.

The Lead industry through the Lead Sheet Association and the Lead Contractors Association has established a Training Academy that can accommodate all skill levels from apprentice to Master craftsman. Its aim is to create a skill pool of Lead workers nationwide so that the increasing demands for Lead in building can be met.

For consultants, such as architects and surveyors the Lead Sheet Association provides Continuing Professional Development (CPD) lectures and seminars that gives them a better understanding on the role that Lead can play in today's building industry.

Lead is easy to use, easy to specify because the industry has ensured that both the technical guidance that ensures a successful project and the skills needed for installation are readily available.

This focus on increasing the skills pool means that there is now a nationwide group of contractors working to the highest standards.
